Hanoverian Horses

We currently have ONE Hanoverian Horse, ROYAL PRINCESS J.  More can be seen about her on her own page.

Our endeavors began in 1996 with the purchase of our foundation mare MSB Fabienne. I imported her from Germany when I returned to the US in 1997 after four years of serving in NATO. She had a very successful competition season in Europe. The "Auslander" surprised quite a few Europeans (German, Dutch and Belgians) by winning quite a few competitions on her. After arriving in the US and moving to Oklahoma we began competing again and did very well. Unfortunately I am deployed quite a bit with the AIR FORCE and do not get to train the way I wished. However, we still scored well enough to qualify for USDF regional championships, win GMO end of year awards, and improve to second level.

In 2002 I was selected to go on a remote location assignment overseas and so at that time we decided to breed Fabienne to achieve her ELITE MARE (EM) Status. She had scored a 7.11 overall at her mare testing in Hannover, Germany with 8's in trot, canter and rideability. We bred her to ES Stallion Arrian standing at Woodridge Farm, Claremore, OK owned by Marefield Meadow in Va. The combination produced a very calm filly demonstrating a walk with a purpose, elevating trot and a rolling canter.

In winter 2006, we decided to find EM Fabienne a new home were she would be used and help others enjoy the sport of DRESSAGE.  She now has a beautiful new home in Houston, TX.

Marshal is a member of the United States Dressage Federation (USDF), United States Equestrian Federation (USEF) and a life memeber with the American Hanoverian Society (AHS).

The following is a short history of the people that have assisted Marshal in his riding endeavours:

Ron Bekink (NL)

From 1994-Sep 1997 the Hanoverian mare Fabienne I purchased in Germany and I trained and competed in the Nederlands under the direct supervision and instruction of Ron Bekink at the Brunsummerhiede Manage.

Ron Bekink is a graduate of the Nederland's Equestrian School in Utrecht.  From 1974 to 1989 Ron Bekink developed as a prospective rider and helped develop many riders to participate in national competitions in Limburg.  Director operator of the Brunsummerheide Manage, Wim van der Weide recognized immediately the talent Ron had and hired him to help around the stable.  In 1989 Ron Bekink became the Manager of the Brunsummerheide manage.  He trained for years under Ernest van Loon, Piet Oothout and Henk van Bergen.  In 1999, he went to France to a farm to breed and train competition horses.  He eventually studied in Brighton, England becoming a certified Horse Dentist.  He could never leave teaching and still today provides instruction to future dressage champions.

Seth Boschman (NL)

I was fortunate to be the only American among all the Limburgers at the Brunsummerheide Manage selected to actively ride my EM Fabienne (Han) in a clinic conducted by Nederland's Grand-Prix rider and Anky v. Grunsven Olympic team mate, Seth Boshman.

Seth Boschman has competed at the International level and trained many horse to the Grand-Prix level.  Seth Boschman has been a member of the Dutch Olympic team and conducts many clinics throughout Europe.

Arthur Kottas (AT), First Chief Rider of the Spanish Riding School in Vienna, Austria

I feel extremely fortunate to have been able to observe Mr. Kottas ride and teach at a three-day clinic sponsored by Training the Teachers of Tomorrow Trust (TTT) at East Whipley Farm Shamley Green in Surrey, England.

Accepted as an eleve in the Spanish Riding School of Vienna his talent was soon recognised and he rose rapidly under the tutelage of Col. Podhaisky to become the youngest ever First Chief Rider in the history of the School.   Arthur Kottas-Heldenberg has been a member of the Spanish Riding School of Vienna since 1960. In 1980, he was made First Chief Rider and is the youngest person to have held this post in the 400 years of the School's history. He is a trainer and instructor of the highest international repute who has successfully trained riders and horses up to Olympic medal standard. His classical schooling methods do not rely on the use of force by the rider and, as a result, he is in demand worldwide as a teacher of classical riding. He is a rider and trainer of the highest international repute, who has successfully trained many horses and riders up to Olympic standard. Having retired from the Spanish Riding School, Arthur is now able to spend more time teaching, passing on his unequalled experience to the next generation of riders and trainers.

Axel Steiner (US)

After returning to the United States I participated in the Axel Steiner "From the Judge's Perspective" educational symposium in 2000.

Axel Steiner has been involved with dressage most his life. Judging and teaching have been his primary horse activities in recent years. Axel holds the highest judge ratings - Nationally "S" and Internationally (FEI) "O," and has judged so far in 31 countries. More recently he was on the panels for the 2000 Olympics, the 2003 Pan American Games, and the World Cup Finals in 2005.  Col Steiner (LT/Col, USAF, Ret) is a member of the USEF Dressage Committee, instructor/examiner for all judge promotions, and faculty member for the USDF "L" program.   Axel enjoys teaching and does so time permitting. He accepts riders and horses of all levels. His motto is "Basics with Quality."

Mette Rosencrantz (SE)

Actively rode my imported EM Fabienne (Han) in multiple 2 day clinics.

Mette Rosencrantz offers an unparalleled Dressage program at Mill Creek Equestrian Center in Topanga, California, where she has been based since 1992. Mette is from Sweden where she was twice a member of the Swedish National Dressage Team. She was the youngest rider ever allowed to enter Stromsolm, Sweden's prestigious school for instructors, and eventually became the head dressage instructor there in 1980. She also has a University degree in Physical Education instruction. Mette is successfully competing at the Grand Prix Level and rode in the finals at Gladstone in June, 2006. In April, 2007, she won the $25,000 Grand Prix Invitational in Las Vegas riding Basquewille. Mette's teaching skills are highly sought-after and in great demand across the country, so she is often invited to teach Dressage Clinics at other riding facilities throughout the United States.
